My GSD Briya suffers from Cerebellar Hypoplasia and got her cart when she was a year old. It helped her with her balance and muscle tone to the point where she only uses her cart while she works on keeping her balance in check and if she gets too tired from chasing her sister Atiya around the yard! I was amazed at how the cart helped her to "learn" how to keep her front legs apart to keep her balance while she was standing and she wobbles much less since I have used the cart to help her learn how to place her front legs to keep her balance.

I just wanted to let you know how rewarding it is to care for a handicapped pet. I have been caring for my 11 1/2 year old beagle Sophie who has been paralyzed for 9 years now. She also is in a diaper 24/7 and must be expressed manually and changed at least 4-5 times a day. There wasn't even a thought of putting her down at the time of her diagnosis. The vet informed my husband and myself in all probability she would never walk or feel from the waist down again. We've dedicated all ourselves to making sure Sophie had a good quality of life thanks to EddiesWheels she has. She immediately took to the cart and is even excited when it's cart time because she knows she will be running and enjoying herself as she did previous to her injury. I don't know where Sophie would be without her wheelchair. Its saved her life. She's up and running in her chair and is all over the property with it. Actually, I do believe its extended her life and kept her the same lively spirited dog we had pre-injury. The all terrain tires make it easy for her to cover all types of weather. When people see her in her wheelchair they are amazed. EddiesWheels personnel are so helpful and are a pleasure to deal with. I wish you luck and love with your baby MollyMae. She will love her chair as you will.

Sadly, there is very little taught about disability in animals in many vet schools. Many vets are reluctant to recommend carts because they have no experience or education about them. We often rely on our clients to educate their veterinarians - and they do a great job of doing this. Once a vet meets a happy healthy dog in a wheelchair, they are just as delighted as the dog owner is that this alternative to euthanasia exists. We work with hundreds of vet who've been converted by their customers.

We do have some used carts, so you might want to take your dog's measurements and we can look for a used cart. A new cart for him, with stirrups and shipping is $405.00. A used cart could be half price.

Dogs don't need to squat to relieve themselves. They hunch their backs a little, the tail goes up, and what needs to come out, does.

My tiny girl has terrible front legs, they bow out bad and at 11 she has bad athritis now. I didnt know a front wheel cart was even possible until I saw the news article. My vet said to just give her Rimadyl for pain until her kidneys fail from the meds and then put her down. I was given no hope even though she still has so much life in her...you give me hope. I am in Maine and I will be down to see you ASAP as she has trouble even taking the stance she needs to use the bathroom. Thank you so much for all you do.
