Sweet Pea’s physical therapist, Jody, asked us to help Vee, a goat being rehabilitated at Tara Farm Rescue (www.tarafarmrescue.org) . Vee had been left outside to freeze during last year’s harsh winter, and was brought back from death’s door by Bonnie Jean Gorden. She lost part of one rear leg, and was too weak to stand when we were asked to make her a cart to aid in her rehabilitation. Eddie made the trip to the farm in Coventry, CT, to measure Vee for her cart. He found her cozy in her tack room, lying on a couch with her pet cat. Vee was the recipient of a variable balance cart with detachable front training wheels. As she regains strength in her forelimbs, the cart will be adjusted to allow her to put more weight on her front legs.
Vee is now back to being able to be outside with the other animals and is on a steady road to recovery. If you wish to donate to her medical treatment, visit her website, www.tarafarmrescue.org.
