Thanks to you, and a village of others, including the North Carolina State Veterinary Hospital, our beloved seven-year-old Shelby is walking on his two front legs, and two Eddie's Wheels, strutting through the woods of our rural neighborhood, and sometimes racing along our road when he spies a deer.

Shelby was struck by a "missile disc" which flooded his spinal column with blood, rendering him paraplegic.  We followed every protocol that the NC State Vet School suggested, but now, five months after his stroke, Shelby still has no control over his hind legs.  For a couple of months, Shelby took physical therapy three times a week from a wonderful rehab center in our neck of North Carolina.  One of the ways they tried to help us was to test out, free of charge, a Walkin' Wheels cart they had received from the manufacturer.

Shelby struggled for three weeks to pull the Walkin Wheels cart over our terrain.  And ultimately, he pretty much gave up.

As my wife and I searched the Web, we noticed that the dogs who were by
far the most free-wheeling had Eddie's Wheels (YouTube showed what worked and what didn't).  When we took Shelby, with our "loaner" Walkin' Wheels to the NC State Vet School, they were very impressed by the bells and whistles of the Walkin' Wheels cart's adjustability, but they were more than chagrined by noticing the terrible results--that using the Walkin' Wheels forced our Shelby to pull the wheels like a horse pulls a cart. Shelby was clearly miserable in the Walkin' Wheels cart.  In discussions with the experts at the NC State Vet Hospital, we discovered that they had the best luck with Eddie's Wheels.  And it made all the difference.  Using Eddie's wheels, Shelby now will walk more than half a mile through our wooded trails, and prance at a good clip down our rural roads.

I work for Duke University, and much of my work involves the Web, so I
attend conferences that teach folks how to skew Google results.  I agonize over seeing that currently, search results for pet wheelchairs, which currently being directed to a variety of sites operated by the folks who make Walkin Wheelchairs.   I'm so sorry to see that Eddie's Wheels is being usurped by what I HOPE is a well-meaning group, who runs http://www.handicappedpets.com and the Walkin Wheelchairs operation.  (As a former investigative reporter for Philadelphia City Paper, it didn't take long to note that the sites for "http://www.handicappedpets.com" who so highly recommends "Walkin Wheels (http://www.walkinwheels.com/)" and "http://www.dogkarts.com/" all have the same toll free phone #.)

If you ever have any customers who are trying to choose between Eddie's
Wheels and Walkin' Wheels, please feel free to direct them my way.  Or
even better yet, just have them search YouTube for dog wheelchairs, and
they'll see how your wheels outpace all others.

Thank you, thank you, and thank you again for your magnificent work on our behalf.

Most Gratefully Yours,
Rob

As founder of a large veterinary specialty hospital and a veterinary neurologist and neurosurgeon, I’ve had considerable experience with clients who have had disabled dogs who could not be helped by surgery or medical treatment. For those dogs, carts proved to be a viable option in helping them to regain mobility and live a fuller and happier life. Early on I felt carts were created equally because of my experiences with many different cart companies; however, my opinion changed when one of my clients brought in his German Shepherd with degenerative myelopathy on his Eddie’s Wheels cart.  I was very impressed -- the quality of craftsmanship and engineering addressed all the bio-mechanical issues that the other cart companies ignored. Designed by a mechanical engineer, the carts are created to address each animal’s disabilities and their own unique anatomical structure, important factors in avoiding stress points or imbalances that very likely could produce orthopedic problems later on. By design, they are completely balanced to support animals with all kinds of disabilities, so that animals with weak rears are not compensating by over-stressing the forelimbs – and no more sway back and shoulder stress. Eddie’s Wheels carts not only restore mobility, they also aid in rehabilitation and healing. In addition, the level of personal customer service is outstanding -- a necessity for a custom-built product. It is for all of these factors and the many long-term, problem-free successes I’ve seen with dogs on these particular carts that I recommend Eddie’s Wheels carts above all others.

The cart came Friday around 6 PM, by 7 Johann was cruising the yard. All I had to do was bolt on the tires, no additional "tweaking" was needed. As we had a unfortunate experience with another brand of cart we were worried that Johann would be apprehensive with this one. That proved not to be true, he took to this immediately. The stability is wonderful and the fact that Susan can get him in by herself is an added plus. It's been a couple of days and we are slowly working up his cart time as it's been quite a while that he has been inactive. He is brighter and more alert and it's only been a couple of days.
Thank you for a remarkable cart, Eddie your engineering is beyond words. You've made a 135 lb GSD very happy.
Thanks for giving us our Johann back.
Jack and Susan.

Here are a couple of pictures my daughter took of Squishy stepping out in his new wheels. Is he not just the cutest?

Squishy's gotten the hang of using the wheels now, and he loves them. When we're walking, people will come over to pet the cute little dog on wheels and Squishy just basks in all the attention. He literally stops traffic as he struts down the sidewalk. Other dogs at the park are curious, too, and will look and sniff at the cart, and somehow seem to know that they need to be gentle with Squishy.

We're really enjoying being able to go walkies.

Kind Friends,
It is amazing to think it has been only two weeks since Promise had her back accident.  It seems like a lifetime.  So many of you have helped, inquired, prayed, we wanted to send out an update.  Last Monday, Promise had disc surgery at the Maine Veterinary Referral Center near Portland.  After a very scary few days, her surgeon, Dr. Marta Agrodnia, said she was cautiously optimistic that she would survive the operation but is fairly sure, barring an all out miracle, that she will be paralyzed in her back end.
Last Friday, she came home. Over the weekend, she adjusted well.  She is eating well, resting in a specially designed crate that allows her to still be part of the pack and interact with the other dogs (ie protect her duck from them).  She seems to have her spirit and personality which is so wonderful.
On Tuesday, we all went out to Eddie's Wheels in Shelburne Falls Ma.  It is an amazing place dedicated to the support and mobility of pets.  Promise got to try on a practice wheelie which she LOVED!  For the first time ever, she could back up.  She took to it right away and, in minutes, was up and about with all the other dogs.  Leslie and her crew took measurements and will make Promise her own wheelie that is custom fitted for her.  We expect it in about two weeks and Promise CAN'T WAIT!
There is still healing and resting to be done... but we are hopeful that Promise will soon be well, back on her feet and wheels, and able to romp at the park and bully her family same as ever.  Below are some photos of Promise with Dr. Agrodnia and rocking out at Eddie's Wheels.
Again, we are grateful for all of you!
Promise and her Family.

Leslie,

On behalf of Dr. Mariela Pazos, the staff and volunteers at the Bergen County Animal Shelter, I would like to extend our thanks for sending a cart for Leah.  She is the sweetest 6 year old hound mix that was unfortunately turned in by her owner because he could no longer take care of her.

Leah, being a relatively large dog and having very limited use of her hind legs, did not have a very bright future without a cart.  That all changed when the cart you sent arrived.  She is doing incredibly well with it and is not only able, but seems to really enjoy taking a nice walk.  We are currently looking for the right home for her, which we hope will come to fruition because of her totally wonderful personality and ability to get around with her new wheels.

Two photos are attached.  One is of Leah, pre-cart, when we took her to Oradell Animal Hospital for diagnosis.  The second is of Leah with her new wheels and a volunteer that has been spending lots of time helping her.

Again, thanks for making a huge difference in Leah's life.  I can't tell you how much we all appreciate it.

Now, seven months after her initial injury she is walking without the cart.

I can't tell you how grateful I am to you all for the wonderful carts you make.  The cart has given Chrissie a chance to recover and live an active and happy life.  Thank you very much.

Hi Leslie,

First things first.

The cart is GREAT!.  Tory is ripping around in it.  She loves it.

Its very well made, and fits her very well.

I ended up taking off the stirrups ‘cause she doesn't really need them.

A video of her the day we got the cart is here:
http://www.chrisandtennille.com/index.php/2009/03/20/finally-a-tory-update/

Feel free to add this to your site if you want.  First video is her without the cart, 2nd video is her in the cart the day we got it (you'll see the shipping box in the video :-))

One thing we would like to know is how much a set of wheels like the ones in the attached picture would cost?
The wheels that it currently has are great for indoors and on carpet, but we would like to get some of the pneumatic ones for outside and off road.

Thanks again for such a great product.  Its really helping her get around and exercise.

-Chris

Hi All,
This e-mail is long overdue.
I wanted to send you an e-mail to thank you so much for helping our family live a fantastic, fulfilled, wonderful life with our dog, Lewis, who became paralyzed just over 2 years ago. In 2006, at 7 years of age, Lewis became paralyzed due to intervertebral disc disease. He was an active healthy dog all his life. He went for daily walks, was a therapy dog at senior's homes, came with me to classes (I run a dog training school), and practiced and competed in agility at
a Regional and National level in Canada. In fact, in 2005, he won 1st place in the Open Regular Division in the AAC British Columbia/Yukon Regional Agility Championships. He is an SPCA Shelter dog who has accomplished so much in his life but most of all, he has been my greatest teacher.
When he became paralyzed, my husband and I were devastated. He had never indicated any back problems and his condition was sudden and acute. We had surgery performed on him but when his condition didn't improve a week after surgery, we knew we had to learn how to live with a dog with "mobility challenges". I immediately started with swim therapy, acupuncture, herbal medicines, massage — you name it, we did it for him. Our therapeutic vet, Dr. Jeff Bowra, told me about Eddie's Wheels and suggested quite early on to order a cart from your company. We did so and I called to speak to someone. I'm sorry, but I didn't write down the person's name but the woman that I spoke to was so lovely on the phone and really helped to ease me. The cart was delivered to our post office box and my friend and took it out to the parking lot of the mall we were at and immediately put it together. We placed Lewis into it and without skipping a beat, he started racing around the parking lot in his new wheels as if he had been born into it. Your company had sent treats with the package to encourage Lewis to follow the treat to train him to move forward. He liked the treats but I think he liked the freedom the cart gave him better.
We spent the first year doing everything we could to "fix" Lewis; to make him walk again on his own and in this last year we've come to realize there was nothing to "fix" in the first place — he's been perfect all along. All you have to do is look into his eyes after his daily walks in his cart to see fulfillment and true joy.
I can't use words to describe Lewis such as "my disabled dog" because his cart from Eddies Wheels makes him "able". I can't really say he's "mobility challenged" because his cart makes him VERY mobile — sometimes too mobile, climbing over rocks and stumps and running on trails, beaches and on the snow trails. So, I guess I'm sending this email because I have to thank you all profusely for this. We don't know how we could have done this without you. Do you know what an enormous impact you have made on our lives? Do you know how much better Lewis' life is because of a wonderful product you make? We can live a normal, happy life - and I'm not speaking only on behalf of Lewis — my life and my husband's life is good because we are able to live normally with Lewis.
Every time Lewis walks outdoors with his cart, he promotes living well in a doggie cart. We refer Eddie's Wheels to everyone who asks. He has educated so many people and given them hope to living with a dog with "mobility challenges".
We are forever indebted - thank you so much,

Anna Lupacchino and Scott Gougeon (& Lewis, Brutus & Zeena)

Dear Eddie's Wheels,
Thank you so much for my wheels! I've been having lots of fun walking around the neighborhood and playing with dogs and people in the park. I am sorry it's taken me so long to write but Nina and Pat have been really busy busy taking me for.... THREE walks a day! (rain or shine, night and day). I didn't need any help at all getting used to the wheels- it was easy! And even though I'm getting pretty old (I'm at least 13!) I still like to chase cats and squirrels and once I almost fell over chasing 3 squirrels up a tree (OK, Ok, so I did fall over but it didn't hurt at all). We are very popular! People always stop to see me and ask Nina or Pat what's wrong with me, where I got the wheels, and everything. Some people driving by in cars have even turned around and followed us! Some even get out of their cars and pet me and give me treats. We get smiles everywhere we go, and the man in the UPS truck waves as he drives by. Even the mailman is not afraid of me anymore, since I can't jump up on him! I love playing with other doggies in the park. They are very interested in my wheels which they like to smell all over. Nina and Pat have also taken me up to their cabin in the mountains and I got to try my wheels out in the snow--it was fun! Anyway, I thought you might enjoy these pictures of one of our walks. Thanks again for everything!

Fondly, Cimaron

Here I am, ready to go go go!

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you folks for the wheels and its obvious comfort. Boomer was kind of hesitant at first about using the wheels but now he runs around with them without a problem. The stirrups are a little useless now because he won’t keep his legs up considering he HAS USE OF HIS LEGS NOW. The neuro-vet said he wasn’t going to use them again but surprise…a pie right in his face! It’s slow going and he obviously needs some more physical therapy in the wheels but I’m sure he’ll be back to normal in no time at all.

Leslie,

Just this email to let you know that OTIS IS DOING GREAT!! WOW...how Eddies Wheels can change a life. We're Darlene & Joel Takarsh and OTIS is our little guy. He's had his wheels for a couple of months now and this little guy knows 'NO FEAR.' In all honesty, he loves his new found freedom and gets super excited when he sees us getting his wheels out. It's really a joy to watch him run with the other dogs and be part of the 'pack'. (we have five dogs). Truly Eddies Wheels has made this little guy one happy fellow and do not be mistaken, what you do at Eddies Wheels is God's work.
Feel free to use these comments and photos on your web-site.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Hello Leslie,

Sadly, I must let you know that Bear passed away on June 23rd.  He was 14 yrs 9 months old.  I still have a hard time dealing with this great loss.  He got around wonderfully in his cart, and we would go for many walks every day.  His quality of life was vastly improved, as was ours.  Before the cart I would carry his back end around in a Bottoms-up harness.  He was so happy to go out and play, and go for walks down our street.  He made many friends who would always stop and pet him; and always wish him well.  He didn't have much time at all with the cart, but it was a happy time, and he used it to the last day.  I am grateful to you and Eddie for the great work you do for the animals.  And I can't say enough about the great design of the cart.  It was easy to use, lightweight, and strong.  Not bulky or awkward.  Thanks for being there.

Hi Leslie,

I don't know if you remember the pink wheels you sent to the UK, well it has to be said the wheels are fantatic and our girl gets great speed out of them. The wheels are still as strong and sturdy as when they first arrived, Teal has lost loads of weight and is still able to whizz around every day. She is getting really well known here and people have stopped their cars to talk about her and her wheels, her life is so good now, she has been invited to take part in a show in two weeks, there was a show going on in our village this weekend, she was not entering, but as she walked in they announced her arrival. We couldn't beleive it, her wheels have made so much differance to her life. Thankyou so much for what you have done for her.

Jo and Teal of course

Hi, We received Yorkie's wheels last Friday.  I am very please at how well it is made and how perfectly proportioned it is for him.  It seems that he felt a little uneasy at first in it but later that day when he saw my nephew, he took off after him running at full force.  I was nervous at first but the cart cornered well and for the first time in a month, our puppy (he's three years old) seemed to be his old self again; running and having fun.  He still gets stuck cutting his corners to tight around a door frame but he's getting the hang of it.  I am hopeful that he may walk again one day but for now he has his cart.  I attached a photo so you can see our little cutie.  Thank you so much.

Thanks so much for the great wheels.  Otis is getting used to them, and is hard to keep up with!  between his swimming and the wheels, he thinks he is way too cool!  Thanks again so much for being there for our needy friends.

Dear Leslie,

Thank you for working with my husband to get Dodger's cart here in time for our fund raiser! As you can see by the picture Dodger was there and able to walk around the track for about an hour. He loved it. The first night he was a little like a donkey in a carriage but once you get him going you can see the little spark in his eye and a big bounce in his step. I Think there are a few m inor adjustments I need to do but I love the cart and although he may not admit is, so does Dodger. Thank you for helping all of our family to be mobile again. Great craftsmanship!!

If I can direct anyone else your way I Will. You guys were geat to deal with, patient and the product is really terrific!

Thank you again,

Hi Leslie, just wanted you to know that the cart arrived Wednesday, and Louie's been using it daily since. He took right to it. Now in the morning when I say 'wanna go for a walk', he gets that happy look on his face again, and follows me into the closet to check that I'm putting on sneakers. It's an interest level that we've not seen in a long while. The walks are short, and he winds quickly, but he is enjoying the time outside. I did want to check, do you carry paw protectors to avoid skinned toes? We've tried the stirrups, but he is wanting to use his hind legs, and does drag his toes sometimes. If you don't carry them, do you have a good source for them?* Thanks for the great product. We are very happy with the construction, easiness to use, and Louie's regained mobility. My best, Nancy Reed PS: the vet really liked the cart quality and design too; we recommend www.tammyandteddys.com for booties.

Hi!

I thought I would share a couple pictures of Mark in his wheels at the Flatcoat club picnic. He was running around without his wheels for part of the day, then started to get sore and would have had to miss out on more playing if he didn't have his wheels. We popped him in his cart and he played [and ran over toes!] for a few more hours until it was time to go home. =)

All my hopes,

Vicky

Hey everyone,
We are so thrilled! Big is running down the driveway again! His drool is running again with excitement and I have to say I cried when I walked down the driveway with him the first time we put them on....

A great solution for a great dog with a lot of life left in him...we can't be more happy for our big boy and just wanted to share.

Dear Eddie's Wheels,

Last October, our 5 year old Beagle-ish dog named Cameron ruptured a disc in his back that rendered him paralyzed in his hind legs.  He had the surgery to remove the ruptured disc, but unfortunately, he will never regain feeling due to the damage caused to his spine.  We were devastated by the news, but were determined to make him as comfortable as possibly during his recovery and do our best to get him "walking" again.

Once he got the "go" from his rehab vet, we immediately ordered a cart from Eddie's Wheels.  We really like the styling of your carts over the competitors, and since I'm from eastern MA, I wanted to support a local company.  Our cart arrived the day after Thanksgiving, and it was one of the best days of our lives.  Cameron took to his new cart the minute he was put in it.  It was the most amazing and emotional sight for us to see our dear dog RUNNING around the rehab center after being confined for over a month.  I cried utter tears of joy because it was just so overwhelming to see him up and about with the help of his new, trusty cart.

Since then, he's already made his way through his first set of tires and is working on his second since he uses it all the time.  It has given him his freedom back and allows him to get out and sniff...his most favorite past time.  We have been approached on numerous occasions by people inquiring about the cart and what happened to Cameron.  We RAVE about Eddie's Wheels and how his cart has given him a new set of "legs."

THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts for helping our dog get that sparkle back in his eyes and that bounce back in his step.  Cameron is an amazing dog and an inspiration to us all.  I've attached some photos of him in his cart from the past year.

Thank you so much again!!!

Sincerely,
Courtnay, Andy, and Cameron Borleske

Hi Leslie. here are some pics of Rusty. He is doing just great. Thank you so much for the quick turnaround.

Also, I am so glad I called you that day to ask why I should chose Eddie's when the majority of people I asked recommended canine carts. I knew Glen, my husband and I, knew a good thing when we saw it when we checked out your website. Eddie's wheels rocks!

I am referring anyone who asks to you, and many do on the abledogs site.

Thanks again.

Maxwell's Story:

Hello,

Last year my dog Maxwell "went down" in August of 2007 and was completely paralyzed in the hind end. I elected to treat him medically and he started a high dose steroid regimine and we had him fit for a cart immediately at you home base in Buckland, MA. Well, my family and I can't praise you and your company enough for the freedom and mobility this has provided for Maxwell over the past year. Last winter he had the cross country skis fitted for his cart and he went with us all the time. This year he has rehabilitated enough to climb up and down a full flight of stairs (no more carrier his 50 lb butt) AND he's recently scaled two mountains in Vermont WITHOUT the cart. In addition, he recently ran in the DOGRUNDOG event again in Norwich, VT and he has set a precedence for dogs that are older and disabled. This year they had a "short cut" specially for older dogs and dogs with disabilities. They did this because Maxwell was in the race last year and realized the race was for every dog. (It's a wonderful event if you want to look it up - DOGRUNDOG.COM If Maxwell didn't have the cart he wouldn't be doing as well as he is now. I sing praises about your company to many people. In any case, my family and I (and Maxwell of course) thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sincerely,

Renee King

From Dieter in Germany

Dear all!

More than a week has passed since we received our "Eddies wheels cart"and it's time to express our thanks to everybody who was envolved to give back our Gina a happy life. From day to day it went better and better. In the meantime Gina has fully realized all the advantages of the cart: to go on her own legs wherever she wants, to enjoy her dearly beloved game: chasing the ball, to meet other dogs and communicate with them, to explore new areas, to .... Whenever we meet other people the cart is a real sensation and we always get positive comments.

I enclose some photos taken on the first three days. I will send more as soon as possible.

Kind regards!

Hans, our 12 1/2 year old GSD, was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy on the 19th of September this year. Researching on the Internet, and asking both Hans' vet and aqua-therapist which cart to get for him--we found that everyone said to get Eddie's Wheels. I ordered the cart on the 25th of September, and it arrived on the 17th of October. We strapped him in, and off we went to the river that he as walked along and swam in all his life.

Hans' outings with the cart have been slowly progressing--adding a little more distance each time. He hasn't been out walking for almost a year--though swimming periodically--so his stamina needed to be built up. It has been about a month now, and the difference is remarkable. Hans is more alert, and can walk better without the cart around the house and yard. He is excited again when we start the car, knowing that he too will be going somewhere fun.

Back in July, Less received his cart. Less was a USDA agricultural detector beagle and very active before he ruptured a disc nearly two years ago. He regained a little mobility within the first year after surgery, but was unable to stand for very long, and usually ended up dragging his back legs even on short trips in the yard. I decided to try him in a cart, based on the recommendations of Dr. Barnes and Dr. Xie from University of Florida Veterinary School.

Less's acceptance of the cart was not as eager as I had hoped, treats and bribes to ease the transition notwithstanding. I swore he was in denial about needing a little help. However, he was so much more mobile when in the cart that I kept putting him in it for short walks and outings. He seemed to think he was being restrained, and would often just not move, even if I lured him to take a few steps with treats. Last weekend on one of our (seemingly) one-treat/one-step walks, he suddenly took off in his cart in hot pursuit of a wonderful scent. I think he has finally decided that this cart thing is not so bad after all, in fact, it may even be pretty neat. I had to run to keep up with him! I'm sending a photo of young Less posing calmly in his wheels, ready for his next adventure in the yard.

The cart is extremely well-made and although Less may have been a bit slow in appreciating it, I have been impressed with the craftsmanship in its construction and its balance and sturdiness. Less can take curbs and rough terrain with no problem at all, but best of all, he gets loads of petting and attention from passers-by who admire the tough little beagle in his tough little cart.

Thanks!

Eddie -
Just want you to know that my dachshund, Dino, continues to have a blast using his cart you designed and built. The cart is now 3 years old and has held up remarkably well - not one problem. Dino loves it, and as you can tell by the mud on the wheels, is kind of an off-road SUV dog. Please consider posting the attached photo of Dino with his wheels.

Thank you for making Dino and I both happy, satisfied customers. As an occupational therapist that has customized and fitted sport and regular wheelchairs for people with disabilities, I know a good mobility design when I see one!

With gratitude,

NOTE: The handmade plastic wheels we made for Dino are no longer available, but have stood up well to the test of time.

Dear Eddie's Wheels,
Thank you all so much for making an old dog so very happy! From the moment we finished adjustments on his 'chariot' and he saw the leash come out of the drawer, we were off to the races. Wambley had no fear or trouble at all getting over the front threshhold, and I'm sure he would have pulled himself down the three steps to the yard if we hadn't reined him in. For a 14-year-old it is really incredible. He can get up the steep incline of our front yard, across the rock flowerbed border, and into the street and take a nice walk in our neighborhood. He's even raising his rear leg again to mark! The wheels give him the support he needs and he is using his rear legs on his walks, and getting much-needed exercise and recreation. The best part is his temperament has improved so much and he is a happy boy once again.

Thank you all so much from the bottoms of our hearts. On that first walk down our cul de sac we were greeted by many inquisitive neighbors, but we had a hard time explaining the situation because we were so overcome with tears of joy. I will send pictures shortly to show you our happy boy in his glory again.

I just wanted to send a brief note to say thank you...one of your carts
has brought the "life" back into my dog.

Woof was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy a few months ago. When I started research on carts, I asked someone I knew what she used, did the dog adjust well, etc. Sadly, the dog had passed away and she told me to come take the cart and try it out for my girl.

So, take a look at the attached, to see the smile on my 14 yr old's face. We hiked around her favorite park and even waded into the lake. It was a joyous day.

Thanks again,
Marcy Rauch and Woof

Dear Eddie & Leslie,

I wanted to send you some pictures of our Miss Molly and her friend Zulu. Maybe you can feature them on your website. Zulu belongs to Phelp & Monique Yersin of Melbourne Florida. They are the ones who told us about your wheels. Our Miss Molly girl received her cart on Oct. 29th and it has given her a whole new meaning of life. She can really get going when she wants to. She is just a bit spoiled but aren't they all. She wants to thank you so much for her freedom.

Thanks, Robin Van Wyck

In memory of my two GSD's who suffered with CDRM (DM) I began collecting and distributing unwanted dog carts in the U.K., primarily to people who could not afford to buy them. I am also a general advisor to Dogs Today readers on CDRM and carts.

I now own Dogmobiles, K9's and Eddies Wheels carts. I have put scores of dogs on wheels. The Dogmobile, while boasting of the ability to allow the dog to lie down is heavy and almost impossible to operate alone. I have never known a dog to lie down in one. The K9, while easier to place the dog into, is cumbersome and difficult to adjust. Eddie's Wheels are wonderful. Lightweight, compact and easy to adjust, they are a breeze to place the dog into. I have a man in his seventies and couple in their eighties placing large male GSD's into Eddies Wheels carts unaided. I have no hesitation in recommending Eddies Wheels as the best on the market and am actively involved in attempting to get these manufactured in the UK to save on shipping charges and duty fees.

Since she received her cart, Toyah has gone from strength to strength. She can once again get about, chase her ball, play tug of war, and enjoy life once again. She is very happy indeed. I am attaching a picture of Toyah with my 90 year granny in their respective wheelchairs.

Abby's cart came less than an hour ago. Within ten minutes she was in it. She wasn't afraid of it, she didn't fight it, she knew intuitively how to turn it, and she and I walked the whole backyard for her first brief introduction. She got lots of treats and praise and is now resting for her next little excursion. We'll have to try several more outings to make sure everything is adjusted properly for her, but she seemed quite comfortable with the settings as they are.

I am so proud of her. We still have a lot to learn, and she was a bit confused when I put her hinders in the stirrups, so I let her roam with them down until she's a bit more acclimated.

But she did absolutely great on her first outing, keeping up a joyful running commentary which I'm sure the rest of the neighborhood probably didn't enjoy nearly as much as I did. I'm attaching a couple of pictures and I'll let you know how she progresses. She can wear the lift harness I made her with the cart; she has it on here. I personally still have some tears of joy leaking, seeing her take to this alien contraption so readily. She even paused in the yard to grab a toy and shake it a few times.

Thank you all for giving her back the chance to roam.

Hi Ed and Leslie,

Thanks so much for getting Tahki's wheels to her so quickly. She really
learned to use and enjoy them this weekend, and we haven't seen such a happy grin on
her face since she lost the use of her hind legs nearly two weeks ago.

She got the hang of travelling outdoors first, and had her first great walk since
March 24th. Three-point turns were next, and now she can get around the house with
very few hangups. When she does misjudge a turn, she just backs up and tries
again a little wider. We were really happy when her friend (a big black lab
named Brogar) came to visit, and she managed to do her traditional, flirty
greeting dance in the cart!

Thanks for making her a happy girl again! By the way, the wheels arrived on
her 15th birthday.

Kathy

Both ways Fetch

We're always careful to check for traffic before crossing the farmer's lane.

GSD's love to play stick.

Give Hose

Kody's stick happens to be a round of firewood.

We also do battle with hoses (it keeps the smarmy bits fresher).

Country Wheels

And, we like cross country walks.

The whole family is into hot wheels - Jon's, Kody's and Sue's.

Hi Leslie

Do you remember ChaCha, the 15-year-old dog? They wrote us a thank you letter with a photo of ChaCha. Who looks so young and adorable--like a puppy!

They say that he loves his cart so much that he runs away when they try and get him out of the cart after a walk.He looks great in his turquoise cart, doesn't he?

Hi Eddie & Leslie

I was dying to let you know about Mint and his quad cart. It was a PERFECT fit; no need to adjust anything!!

Eddie, you are amazing!! It was so perfect!!

He looked so comfortable with his head resting on the head rest. When we placed Mint in the cart, he took about 2 minutes to think, then started to move his rear legs like a little dance.

Mint's folks were so happy and surprized to see him move like that, because he hadn't moved his rear legs like that for about 3 years.

They were in tears.

They also told me again and again to thank you for making such a perfect cart for their little angel.

Hi,

I'm Grace, I have had my wheelchair (new legs) for 3 weeks. My parents thought I would never be able to go to my favorite place again, Super Petz. I go every Saturday now and I get to walk and smell every bone in the store as I did before. I am now the official door greeter, after I have finished walking around, I stand at the front door so everyone can hug me. All that know me say they think I smile now and that my eyes look happy again. I am happy again thanks to you at Eddie's Wheels.

Thanks so very much,
Nancy and Wayne Toussaint
and of course Grace!!

Dear Friends at Eddie's Wheels,

This is a very long-overdue THANK YOU for the wonderful cart you made for my dog, Radar. Thanks to you, Radar is once again enjoying his daily walks at the park, the company of other dogs, and the many scents of the outdoors. This summer he has traveled to the Cape as well as the Hamptons, and needless to say, he is the talk of the town wherever he goes. Despite being more than 16 years old, he can easily maneuver the wheels on pavement, grass, and gravel. For all the joy he has brought me, I am so grateful that he is able to get a little more enjoyment out of his "golden years". Thank you so much for making it all possible with your design and dedication. I'm including a picture for you to see what a big smile you have put on his face. Best wishes to you all.

Dear Eddie & Other Fine Wheel-Maker Folk,

Just wanted to thank you for the loaner wheels and send out some pics that perhaps you could forward to Boomer's people with my sincere thanks. Ida took to the wheels so very quickly and we have been thoroughly enjoying our walks again. I was surprised by the lifting of anxiety off my shoulders as instead of watching her stumble and fall on wee walks, I can watch her zip along on longer walks. She took one spill (in her glee she went too fast off a little edge and into a little ditch filled with leaves) but instead of looking the least bit worried (and she is a worrier) she just lay there, on her back, wheels in the air, smiling wide and asking me to rub her belly (don't worry, the wheels, and Ida, were unscathed). Your product is remarkable. So light and secure and easy to maneuver. You have given her, and me, a quality-of-life injection. Thank you so very much.

Kind regards,

Rachel

Big news here. The other nite Weeble was able to take about 7-8 steps by himself! He's had some problems with his paws knuckling under, & usually I have to help him, but the other night he was able to correct the problem himself !!!!! He knows that the cart is his & gets so happy when I put him in it! Thank you both again from the bottom of my heart for caring so much about my handicapable boy! Gotta say we both love the cart!

Take care,
Beth

Hello Eddie,

My name is Mariann Neuschaefer and my dog is Bailee and she is a keeshond. I had purchased your wheels for Bailee because she has a fused spine and can't not use her back legs at all.

She LOVES HER WHEELS!!! When I bring her wheels out and she see's it she goes nuts!!! She knows her wheels make her mobile. I don't know who is happier me or her.

The first time I put her in it she just stood there and wouldn't move. I even tried food, and she is real big on that. But that didn't work. I took her outside and my husband, son and me all called her. Still she wouldn't move. Then I remembered she loved going for walks. I said,"Bailee do you want to go for a walk?" That was it...she walked to the gate and out she and I went for a walk. She was barking the whole time. You could see just how happy she was! One of my neighbors was out and said she was so happy for Bailee and me that she actually cried. She too is an animal lover was it made her feel good to see how happy Bailee was. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING BAILEE FEEL LIKE A NORMAL DOG WHO CAN GO FOR WALKS AGAIN!!!!!!

Sincerely,
Mariann and Bailee Neuschaefer

PS. Here is a picture of Bailee in her wheels. You can see just how happy she is. Please feel free to put on your site. I would love to go to your site and she her picture!

Hello Leslie,
I know it has been ages since we have been in contact about Bella, my eleven year old Weimaraner but I wanted to send you a picture of her practicing in her cart recently. We have been very fortuante that she has been able to get around on her own lately but should she need the cart, it is peace of mind that we have it at her disposal. Thank you so much for providing a really great product with great customer support. I appreciate all the help you provided when we were taking measurments and working on getting her fitted.

Thank you!

We have a cart of yours for our 8 year german shepard Rona who suffers from DM. She is now completely paralyzed in her back end but I tell you she is doing absolutely fabulous. I really think sometimes she forgets her handicap.
Attached is my happy girl. I can' t even thank you enough. You have kept our family together.

Hi, my name is Rob Hughes. My wife and I bought a cart from you last May for my dog King. King suffered from degenerative disc disease, and at the time we got the cart, he was having a hard time walking. The disease progressed to where he could only shuffle through the house using his front legs. The only time he was able to walk and run around on his own was when he was in your cart. Your cart gave him the freedom to run around outside and play with both myself and with his buddy, Bear, our Golden Retriever. From the first moment he was in his cart at your shop in MA, you could instantly see his expression change. He actually smiled being in it. King passed away last week and I wanted to thank you for helping him gain some freedom and dignity back in his life over the last 10 months. I have enclosed a few pictures that I would greatly appreciate being posted on your site. It would mean a lot to me.

I also want to know if you have a buy-back program. We would love to have King’s cart be put to good use for another dog. It is still in great condition.

Thank you so much again,

Rob

We ordered our dog, Sydney’s Wheels back in January. Thought you might enjoy these pictures of Sydney our on her walks on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with Pike’s Peak in the background.

Sydney is a Dalmatian/Australian Shepard Mix, 11.5 yrs old. Sydney is now totally paralyzed in the back legs (Degenerative Myelopathy). We are extremely grateful that she can enjoy walking with Eddie’s Wheels. Thank You So Very Much.

Dear Eddie's Wheels,

I wanted to thank you for Kymmie's new wheels. Kymmie was diagnosed with cancer in his lungs nearly 2 years ago and was treated for it as much as he would allow. About a month ago, we found out that the cancer had progressed to his spine and that he had a limited amount of time left. He lost the ability to walk with his back legs but still had a lot of spirit. We searched many sites on the internet to see what wheels were available that could help him get around. "Eddies Wheels" had the best-looking wheels, and they didn't look to complicated to set them up. We measured Kymmie, and sent in the measurements and got an immediate response to our request. Because of Kymmie's condition the staff at Eddie's Wheels knew we needed help for him right away. They had Leslie assist us and she checked to see if there were any used wheels that were close to Kymmie's measurements. She found a set of counterbalanced wheels that would fit Kymmie, but we preferred the standard wheels, as Kymmie was still very strong in his front legs. Leslie mentioned that they could modify them and it may take up to a week, but she would see what they could do. Just a few days later, a truly wondrous phone call came that said Kymmie's wheels were ready to go and how would I like to ship them? Of course I wanted them now!!! So we had them overnighted and they just happened to arrive on Kymmie's Mom's (my partner Chris) Birthday. You people are amazingly wonderful for letting Kymmie have a chance at normalcy in his final weeks of residing on this side of the Rainbow Bridge. Please convey our overwhelming gratitude to all your staff and also to the Original owner of these wheels. A special thanks to Leslie for her commitment to making sure her customers are a top priority.
